Meet Catch Outdoors
Catch Outdoors grew from founder Kelly Barefoot’s passion for building effective, high-quality fishing tackle. Kelly began building custom lures through Custom Lures Unlimited in 2003 before launching Catch Outdoors in 2013.
Today, Catch continues that same approach—developing innovative tackle designed to give anglers new ways to approach the water and products they can fish with confidence.
That combination of thoughtful design, versatility and real-world fishability is exactly why Catch Outdoors stood out to Discover Tackle.
Why We Chose Catch Outdoors
When we started building the inaugural Discover Tackle box, we wanted products that anglers could actually put to work—not filler.
Catch Outdoors immediately fit what we were looking for. Their combination of creative lure design, practical fishing applications and independent roots represents exactly what Discover Tackle was created to showcase.
That’s why we chose two Catch Outdoors products for our very first box: the IKON Squarebill and Zero Gravity Jig.
Inside the Box: IKON Squarebill
The IKON Squarebill brings a different approach to shallow-water crankbait fishing. Its design gives bass anglers a versatile hard bait for covering water, working around cover and triggering reaction bites.
We chose the IKON for the inaugural Discover Tackle box because it represents exactly what we want subscribers to discover—an innovative bait from an independent tackle company that may become a new confidence lure.
Every October subscriber will get an IKON Squarebill from Catch Outdoors in their box.
Inside the Box: Zero Gravity Jig
The Zero Gravity Jig is anything but a traditional jig. Its unique lead-free design weighs just .21 oz. and is engineered to fall at approximately one foot every three seconds, giving bass more time to see and react to the bait.
That slower presentation opens up a different way to fish a jig—around shallow cover, suspended fish, or anytime bass respond better to a more natural, deliberate fall.
We chose the Zero Gravity Jig because it gives Discover Tackle subscribers something different to experiment with—a familiar category of bait with a completely different approach.
Every October subscriber will receive a Zero Gravity Jig from Catch Outdoors alongside the IKON Squarebill.
